I was once at the receiving end of scholarships by Jambo Minda Foundation. I was a victim of tsunami disaster in 2004, and post-disaster life was not easy while I was managing my bachelor’s degree program in engineering at Syah Kuala University. As I see it, Jambo Minda Foundation is one among few non-profits that is heavily invested and focused on local community and issues. Jambo Minda generates this impression that you live among the people willing to share their time and resources building stepping stones for the less fortunate, people that want to see others succeed, and are excited when they do. I understood Jambo Minda has established a new program called Rumah Singgah (a home library opened for public). I have no doubt that this new social venture will prove invaluable to the community it always aspire to support. And I would not be surprised that one day, I’ll hear similar story to that of mine being testified here by future generations.
